In anticipation of a glorious spring after a long, cold winter, the BCONE - Brownfield Coalition of the Northeast Scholarship Committee is planning a guided walking tour of Branchbrook Park in Newark, NJ -- home to the largest number of Cherry Blossom trees in the nation! The park receives thousands of visitors each year from Japan and around the world.
Because cherry blossom trees are revered in Japan, we will begin the day with a traditional tea ceremony streamed live from Japan! Being environmental practitioners, we will also explore the basic tenets of Japanese environmental philosophy.
All proceeds donated to the Charlie Bartsch Scholarship fund to seed the next generation of brownfield practitioners.
