Course: 9:00am - 10:30am

Description:

LSRPA, NJSWEP and BCONE have convened a panel of women representing the field of Environmental Justice (EJ). These panelists have dedicated their careers to addressing the needs of our most vulnerable populations. By decreasing environmental burdens and adverse health risks, overburdened communities can receive fair and equitable treatment. The panel will discuss current issues in EJ including NJ’s recent passage of national precedent setting EJ legislation. NJ Senate Bill S232, now law, permits the NJDEP to deny or condition certain permits due to cumulative, disproportionate impacts of pollution in EJ communities.

Attendees will gain helpful insights to the field of Environmental Justice that can be incorporated into our current work and future environmental projects.
