3M and NJ reach $450M settlement over ‘forever chemicals’

The chemical giant 3M will pay New Jersey nearly a half billion dollars to settle liabilities related to decades of toxic “forever chemical” pollution around the Garden State.

State officials announced the settlement Tuesday morning, where the Minnesota-based company will pay up to $450 million to New Jersey toward environmental remediation and restoration of damaged natural resources.
